Solasta II: Start a Private Co-op Session and Assign Characters

Invitations or session codes bring friends into a private group. Characters, the world map and dialogue involve different responsibilities.

Create Private Session; Assign Characters and Companions; World Map: Host Leads; Dialogue: Votes + Timer

Solasta II’s online co-op has been available since Early Access Update 1. You can start a new campaign together or invite friends to an existing one. Use the same current version; the old previousversion branch does not include co-op.

  1. Open the multiplayer interface and create a session.
  2. Select private if only your group should participate. Send the other players an invitation or session code.
  3. As host, assign the available characters. Players can also create new characters or select existing ones.
  4. Assign companion control too. Before the first battle, agree who controls each character.

Explore and Decide Together

Characters can move independently in ordinary locations. The world map remains under host control. Loot goes to the character opening a container first; redistribute items afterwards according to individual carrying capacity.

During combat, each player acts on their character’s turn. Other players cannot simultaneously make additional movements. Dialogue responses are voted on, and a timer starts when choices appear. Discuss important responses promptly rather than assuming unlimited discussion time.

Pings use Ctrl and the middle mouse button by default, or D-pad up. There is no built-in voice chat. You can use Steam voice chat or your own Discord channel.

If joining hangs, do not simultaneously reload a save. The hotfix list identifies this combination as a known crash cause. Then check the version and Steam branch before assuming a damaged save is responsible.
